We offer affordable, quality preschool programs for three to five-year olds; in a spacious, friendly, and inviting environment.
Our classroom is located in the historic Hancock Meetinghouse on Main Street. This large, open space offers many hands-on learning centers and play stations, a stage for plays and easy access to nature trails and town facilities.
At the Hancock Cooperative Preschool, we place a heavy emphasis on developing social and language skills, while encouraging individual growth. Both programs feature theme exploration and exciting activities that teach children basic preschool skills. A typical day at the preschool might include free play, circle and sharing time, art projects, story time, writing, nature exploration, puppetry and finger plays, and music and movements.
We are pleased that we are able to provide a teacher and teacher's aide ensuring a strong teacher to student ratio. Our teacher develops an exciting, inclusive curriculum to be approved by the Parent's Council annually. In this way there is cooperation between teacher and parents that is unique to this school.
Helping Hands
As a parent-cooperative preschool, parents are encouraged to share their unique skills to help make the preschool environment educational. An eight-member parents council provides administrative support, and all parents help raise funds, maintain the classsroom, and prepare class materials.
